(b) FREIGHT FORWARDING While preparing the paperwork of your export shipment, you would also have to make a decision as to what mode of transporting the goods to your buyer best suits your buyer’s needs and specifications. The modes of transportation most predominantly used by Nigerian producers for the servicing of orders across West African countries are usually :
When your decision is made regarding what mode of transportation to use to forward the shipment, then it is highly recommended that you reach out to Neliss or any freight forwarder of your choice in order to request for a quote for the mode of transportation you have chosen. After you receive and approve the freight forwarding quote of the freight forwarder, then the freight forwarder will go ahead to book your shipment with a road, sea or air carrier, depending on the mode of transportation that you chose. Next, the freight forwarder will transport your shipment to the terminal of the carrier, submit the processed shipping documents of the shipment to the carrier and then bring you your own copies of the shipping documents as well as the copies to be sent to your buyer. The freight forwarder will also keep tracking the shipment on your behalf until it gets to your buyer/receiver. |
